Influenza (flu) is an acute respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. As we enter the peak season of winter influenza, a new round of influenza viruses will spread in the community, and the chance of contracting influenza viruses will also greatly increase. Vaccination against seasonal influenza not only effectively prevents the risk of infection, but also reduces the risk of serious complications, hospitalization and death caused by influenza.
The Southern District Health Center will arrange the following eligible Hong Kong residents for free seasonal influenza vaccination:
- Persons aged 50 years or above Hong Kong resident (count by year of birth)
- Persons aged 18 to 49 years with specified chronic medical conditions
- Persons with intellectual disability (PID)
- Persons receiving disability allowance
- Recipients of standard rate of “100% disabled” or “requiring constant attendance” under the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme of the Social Welfare Department
- DHCs/DHCEs/RCHE/RCHD/RCCC staff, poultry workers, pig farmers and pig-slaughtering industry personnel
Remarks: Give joining and/or sharing consent to join eHRSS or Registered as a member of the Southern District Health Centre is required (membership registration is available on-site)

Important Notes:
- Please bring your ID card and Immunisation Record (if available) on the day of vaccination.
- People with intellectual disabilities or recipients of Disability Allowance shall present the Registration Card for People with Disabilities or a certificate issued by a registered doctor or designated authorities.
- If you feel unwell (e.g. having cold symptoms or a fever) on the day of vaccination, please cancel the appointment by calling 3575 7000.
